Great news for all the Indians as India has become the top country for the video calling via WhatsApp. Yes, Indians we are the people who use the WhatsApp video calling more rather than any other country around the globe. Over 50 million video calling per day is being done by Indians.
Last year in the month of November Facebook-owned company WhatsApp has launched this feature of video calling. Now, after six months of the feature release by the company, WhatsApp has confirmed this news that the top most country around the globe which is using the video calling feature the more is India. A total of 50 million calling per day has been recorded by WhatsApp, and this is the highest among all the countries where WhatsApp being used.
The company officials said that “Globally, users make over 55 million video calls per day, spending more than 340 million minutes per day on these calls. WhatsApp is also home to over 200 million monthly active users. This is the highest base for WhatsApp that has over a billion users globally.”
The CEO and the Co-founder of WhatsApp, Jan Koum said that “Video calling is one of the most requested features from people in India. We’re proud to have the opportunity to launch this feature in India and look forward to seeing people use WhatsApp to talk to their friends and loved ones face to face.”
WhatsApp has recently brought many new features such as 24-hour status feature same as Snapchat, which remains there only for 24-hours only and after 24-hours it disappears automatically. Although WhatsApp did not get such good response for this feature and that is why the WhatsApp team decided to bring the simple ‘Text Status’ back. As initially, WhatsApp had only ‘Text Status’ feature only.
WhatsApp is available in more than 50 different languages around the world and in 10 different Indian languages. WhatsApp has become one of the most widely used text application around the world.
