WhatsApp the Facebook-owned company has brought many changes in its App in the recent time such as it brought the ‘Status’ feature then again changed the status feature with the initial status feature and then bringing the end-to-end encryption facility and making upgradations every now and then in order to make it the top chat application.

WhatsApp is quite popular in its field and it has millions of user across the world as WhatsApp runs in many languages. WhatsApp has set its mark in the league of communicating applications and people have become so addicted to it that every second person is on Whatsapp and using it frequently. But What if one day you wake up and got the news that WhatsApp is shutting down? Yes, WhatsApp has announced that it will end its support for old Nokia and Blackberry phones on June 30th.

The leading chat app WhatsApp has announced last year that it will end its support for Blackberry OS, Blackberry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia S60 Operating Systems on June 30, 2017. So if you still using the phone which has the above mentioned Operating Softwares then I am sorry to say that you need to upgrade your phone in order to use WhatsApp further.

WhatsApp has clearly explained in its Support page that “These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. If you use one of the affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer OS version or to an Android running operating System 2.3.3+, iPhone running 7+ or Window Phone 8+ so that you can continue using WhatsApp.”

The support page also includes “We will soon be ending support for certain devices on June 30th, 2017, we will no longer support the following platforms: BalckBerry Operating System, BalckBerry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60.”

According to the statement given by the company to the media “This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family and loved ones using WhatsApp.”
