Reliance Jio has done a partnership with Cisco for building the world’s largest All-IP digital network in India. This collaboration will help Reliance in expanding its existing current multi-terabit capacity. The Mukesh Ambani-led company will provide a great combination of media, cloud, digital commerce, VoLTE, mobile video, high-speed data and payment services with the help of this network. Jio will also provide premium broadband service at reasonable prices i.e. at the US $0.15 per GB.

An All-in digital platform is constructed on Cisco’s open network structure and cloud-scale networking technologies so that Jio can make the best use of its data centers. This network features IP/MPLS, spanning areas including security, Wi-Fi, and contact center solutions.

Mathew Oommen, President of Reliance Jio company said that they have an ability to fundamentally impact how people depends on technology in their everyday lives by providing comprehensive and inexpensive broadband across India. He added that Cisco has played a great role in constructing this cloud-centric All-IP network and meeting the aspirations of the country.

CDN (Content distribution network) and Jio’s infrastructure exists beyond the India’s geographical boundaries i.e in Amsterdam, Los Angeles, New York, London, France, and Singapore thus allowing its Indian users to have an amazing experience at affordable prices. Jio has gained 100 million subscribers since it has been launched (within six months) and reached a benchmark of utilizing more than 1-exabyte data per month.

Yvette Kanouff, the senior vice President, General Manager of Cisco company said that they share the vision with Jio Infocomm for an open, programmable infrastructure to automate, facilitate and core network functions to digitize quickly. He added that this digital platform has marked the milestone turning the mobility business in India by providing a wide range of services and mobile apps from a single platform.

With over 185,000 miles (or 300,000 KM) of fiber, Reliance Jio has become the largest cloud data center in India constructing platforms for vertical solutions and applications. Cisco says that mobile data traffic will increase 7-times from the year 2016 to 2021. Cisco is designing the virtualized network platform for the future based on top-notch software, silicon, systems, and services. It allows media companies and service providers worldwide to secure their networks, speed time-to-market, decrease costs and have profit-making growth.
