Kalpit Veerwal, a 17-year old boy of Udaipur has got 360/360 or full marks in JEE(Joint Entrance Examination) Mains 2017 thus making a new record in the engineering examination world. Kalpit told a news reporter,” I did regular studies, never missed the classes, kept my confidence high and cleared doubts from teachers to achieve success in JEE Mains 2017″. He added, “I used to study for around 5-6 hours daily apart from coaching classes and classes in school,”.
According to sources, he has been taking coaching classes since he was in class 8. Mohit Wadhwani, the teacher of his Kota-based coaching institute mentioned that when Kalpit was in class 9, he topped National Talent Search Examination and Indian Junior Science Olympiad in class 10. As per the sources, Apart from studies, the Udaipur boy has an interest in listening music, playing badminton and cricket.
If we talk about Kalpit’s family, Pushpendra Veerwal, his father is a compounder at MB Government hospital whereas Pushpa, his mother is a teacher in a government school. He also has the elder brother who is studying in AIIMS medical college. Kalpit also told a news reporter that “My parents looked after me well so that I do not get ill and miss studies,”.
There were more than 11.8 lakh students who appeared for JEE-Main exams this year but out of these, only 2.2 lakhs got selected for final round i.e. JEE Advanced. Vasu Jain has bagged the AIR(All India rank) 2 whereas Ananye Agarwal got the third rank in JEE Mains 2017. Among the girls, Vrunda Nandkumar Rathi has topped with 321 marks and got AIR 71 rank.
As per the sources, Kalpit wants to do computer science engineering from IIT Bombay. For this, he will focus on JEE Advanced examination to be held in May.
