For the safety of women at their workplaces, the Women and Child Development Ministry has launched an online platform to enable women employees of the Central Government to file a complaint related to sexual harassment at the workplace called as “SHe-Box”.
Union Minister Maneka Gandhi said that the platform is currently available to Central Government employees and thereafter, the platform will be made available for the private sector too. After the launch of the portal, the Union Minister said that “We are also going to soon conduct a national survey to assess the nature and magnitude of sexual harassment at the workplace.”
As per the instructions, given by the Women and Child Development Ministry make the ‘SHe-Box’ (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box) as interactive as possible. Maneka said that “We, just need to make a few changes in our online interface. Once it is done, employees from the private sector would also be able to lodge complaints.”
Once a complaint against any one is registered, it will be directly sent to the internal complaints committee concerned so that immediate action can be taken. Both the ministry and the complainant would be able to track the status of the complaint. All those who have already filed a hand written complaint with the ICC (Internal Complaints Committee) are also eligible to file an online complaint via ‘SHE-Box’. You can easily access the portal at www.wcd-sh.nic.in and can file your complaint.
Women should feel safe in their workplace, this is the only concern of the authorities. So, all the working women, now you don’t have to visit the authorities again and again just to file your complaint, simply go online and file your complaint. This portal ‘SHe-Box’ is a great help for every woman. Thumbs Up for the Central government.
