Since the day you gain consciousness, you fill our head with dreams. Dreams that one day we all wanted to come true, dreams people were so passionate about. Who doesn’t want to be big, achieve greatness but, somewhere during the race to our dream-world we lose the very essence to fulfill that dream once we craved? Why is it having so much passion buried inside, we choose whatever comes our way and eventually settle for less? We will tell you why and how and why you shouldn’t:
The Fear is driving you crazy, the initial step lays the foundation hence is very crucial but for some reasons you choose not to begin. Say, you had this great idea you’ve been pursuing so long and were so much passionate about that you wanted it to happen dearly. It would have lead you to your ultimate destination had you initiated your actions. You fear that if you try you will fail. Fear is the utmost reason, the grand burden, the force of gravity that will keep you from reaching what you deem so deeply. You fear your peers, family or friends, you fear to disappoint them.
It is not just failure or disappointment that scares the shit out of us, even success holds us back. People say, do what makes you comfortable, stay where it is comfy because isn’t happiness is the key to greatness? Quite the irony it is, your comfort zone kills you slowly, you stop evolving because you don’t see any reason to be better. Take it this way, you don’t earn your living until you step out of your house. Earning a living is a story we leave it for a while. More often you will hear people state you don’t always get what you want. Okay, we get it but, then what is the point of wanting it in the first place?
No planning and you are just hurling towards the goal. Like really? Settling for less is compromising your heart and your long term happiness and to dodge it you must do what actually gives you the chill and you feel passionate about. It so doesn’t mean you go out without any plan. There could be many reasons for not developing the idea, it could be uncertainty, your indoctrinated beliefs or low self-esteem. Low self-esteem is probably very destructive, it provokes negativity. For instance, you’re doing something you don’t feel like doing and want to do what you desire the most but, has no hint of ‘how?’ So, what you did there is quit your only paying job and also you are running low on confidence thus you cannot ask for help because ‘what if they made a fun out of me’ is more important than they can really assist. A person develops low self-esteem over time and it could be due to bullying for your looks, caste, color or the way you dress, child abuse, mockery of your lifestyle etc. That is why when this person generates an idea and knows it will work, hesitates in executing.
Laziness has you in its grip and you keep delaying it further and further. You talk about not being ‘core happy’ in life and yet you do nothing. Having a passion probably is the best thing but what’s the point of it if you don’t plan on turning into something useful? One life one dream and so little of efforts. Look at the bright side, you won’t fail because you ain’t trying. We wait for the perfect timing like some divine figure will descend from the sky and will say, punch it, my man! Waiting for time is wasting time and you’ll have to wait longer to satisfy your soul. Those who don’t stand out for their dreams taste defeat. Postponing the initial step kills a part of the passion and if you kept it for long there will come a time when you wouldn’t have the passion anymore.
You’re Bluffing big time. We get the life once and must fight for what matters. You only say it loud but you’re not a doer. People realize you have a thing for your passion and seen you laud about it a lot, however, they never saw you turning into big or even 10 percent of what have been said. We are humans, social animals and we need people backing us, be there in our blues plus if by the end of the day there’s no one you can count on, what have you earned so far? You would need people witnessing your success, it’s a part of not settling for less. You also bluff as many rich people started just like you and made it that far, hey! they also had passion and so do I, I too will be a billionaire one day.’ When we compare ourselves with some achiever we forget that they risked taking the very first step, they didn’t bluff or laud but they actually proved. Bluffing sometimes pan out well but not in this case. Here, the longer you bluff, the more time you’ll lose.
Passion only can’t get you where you want to go but, it most certainly can give you a way. Question, Having So Much Passion Buried Inside Why Do We Settle For Less In Life? Most people mistake passion with interest. You can have 10 different interest but that alone is not enough. When you fail to understand the difference between two, you end up doing something you only ‘like’ doing, not love. Passion is deep, like falling into an unfathomable depths or coming in love. The time you realize of your passion, you must work to shape it and it’s necessary to avoid falling for the wrong cause. You have to be persistent about your passion.
With the following passion, a question arises, ‘how do you know the passion will bring joy, satisfaction in your life?’ We can not feel happy ahead of the time, we suck at predicting. Take it this way, you have the passion for cooking and suddenly your inner sense urged you to cook, you stood up went to the kitchen and started your prep, Bingo! you don’t have proper ingredients. What will happen at this instant is, you’ll have to run to the nearest grocery store to buy the stuff and your eyes will suddenly stumble upon the very thing you wanted to bake, now, you buy the finished product and leave the hassle of cooking or take the ingredients home and see if you want to cook anymore, the thought will cross your mind. It may not be a great example but you got the idea what happens to passion when you are unprepared.
Being judged is crippling you and you now have nightmares. As said in Men In Black by Agent K, People are dumb, a person is smart. It is the duty of people to judge us and they will judge us no matter what. Whether you do good or bad, you follow your dreams be successful or stuck in a job and stay sad, people will never stop judging you. It’s up to you how you tackle them, don’t let their assessment of you obstruct your thought process. If you’re sure about what you want and if that makes you happy, do it. At some point in your life, you must have crossed paths with those individuals who fall short of prevailing on their goals because they didn’t take the chance, they too were scared of being judged. Don’t let this be a case with you, life is too short to live in regrets.
So, live once and do it bluntly as you don’t owe this world anything. Follow your passion, never let your dreams die, take the first step towards your goal. Don’t be afraid what will happen, get excited for what may not happen if you don’t try. Stop being worried about people judging you, about failure because if have planned it right, everything will fall right into the place. And as a great man once said, it’s better to try than to wonder what could have happened.
