The much-awaited and much-gossiped concert of the pop sensation Justine Bieber finally over. It had become the talk of the country and his crazy fans are literally mad after him but have you ever think who is the man behind the ‘Purpose Concert’. Well, he is none other than Arjun Jain bought Justin Bieber to India for the concert, the Managing Director of White Fox India. Jain commenced this company after his bachelor degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts.
Arjun explained how it was difficult to bring international singer Bieber to India for a concert, the challenges which he faced to organize such a big event in a country like India. But even after facing all the problems, sleepless nights and formalities this man had made this grand event possible. In addition to this, the concert took place at the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai and the venue was almost enclosed by around 500 cops, a number of guards, and approximately 1500 security persons.
As matter of fact, Arjun said, “It entails a lot of research and spadework, to be honest. This one has been a ride of a different sort. It will be the first time in history that a mainstream artist of this stature is visiting the subcontinent.”
It is pertinent to note that, while talking to media Arjun Jain shared his joy and feeling of satisfaction, “It entails a lot of research and spadework, to be honest. This one has been a ride of a different sort. It will be the first time in history that a mainstream artist of this stature is visiting the subcontinent.” He further added “Bieber today attracts a universal age group and has matured as an artist. He has the second largest fan base in India.”
Jain stated, “There were multiple agency pitches for this concert but I guess we worked really hard to win this one.” He further told the reporters, “Right from the money invested to the production value of the show to sponsor engagements, it has been quite a journey. India is yet to become a superpower when compared to global competitors but it’s a gradual process and we hope after Bieber this trend continues. Most pop artists command a steep price to perform here now.”
While speaking about hurdles and successfully wind up of the event Jain quoted, “The governing laws are very complex and the taxation is heavy. Skilled human capital is also lacking, and this needs to be improved through learning programs. The absence of proper event venues, technology service providers, air transport network and so on makes conducting large scale events tougher.”
Jain said, “From our past experience, we feel pop gets far bigger traction than EDM — from sponsors, media, and the fan community.” Lat year, Mr. Jain also attended Justine Bieber’s concert in Monaco and got a chance to meet manager Scooter Braun from America.
After the ‘Purpose Tour’ concert, Jain talked about his business plans and stated, “There are a lot of artists we are looking at bringing to India. I would love to now get a female pop star to the country. My partners, Mani Singh Cheema and Aman Kumar, are also looking at expanding in the global film production, brand management, and hospitality business, apart from sports where we have stakes in mixed martial arts and poker already. Overall, we want to contribute 35 per cent to the event and entertainment business going forward.”
