On the occasion of ‘Shaurya Diwas’ on Sunday, Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave away the bravery awards and medals to various CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) Jawans. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was also present at the event as the Guest Of Honour.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh had launched the website ‘Bharat Ke Veer’, a creation of Akshay Kumar, to provide the fiscal contribution to the relatives of CRPF Jawans killed in actions. Akshay Kumar recently won a National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the movie Rustom.

During the ceremony, Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave a speech and he mentioned in the speech that ‘If any Jawan or Army personnel killed then his family must get at least Rs. 1 crore of compensation not less than that in any circumstances’. He also mentioned in a speech that the local youth of Kashmir who throws stones at the Jawans, ‘When these people get into trouble, then these Jawans only protect them’.

This ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ web portal and mobile application are made for the real heroes of India, our CRPF Jawans and Army personnel. By using this application the willing donors can contribute towards the families of the brave soldiers of Central Reserve Police Force who sacrifice their lives for the safety of their country and their countrymen. The amount donated through this application would come to the account of ‘Next of Kin’ of the parliamentary soldier.

This web portal is the creation of Akshay Kumar who called him as a ‘son of an army man’ not as an actor in the event. During his speech in the event at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, he told this to audiences that how a documentary on terrorists inspired him to launch this web application. He said that ‘The terrorists are being told (from the masterminds who played with their minds and their emotions to fulfil their own bad wishes) that if ever anything happened to them, then they (the masterminds/officials, who run these terrorist activities) would take care their families on their behalf. Akshay said that he only wanted to convert the negative into positive’. As this app will get the support of 1.25 billion.

Akshay always wanted to launch this application through which the needed families can get the needed help and in this regard, he met Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi about 3 months back with his proposal. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government is making sure that the families of all the martyr who is killed in action get compensation at least one crore, not less than that. He said that he is also ready to spread his hands in front the countrymen to get it done. This web portal www.bharatkeveer.gov.in is a huge step in this direction by the efforts of Akshay Kumar.
