This Tulip garden has 20 lakh tulips in the garden which includes 46 varieties in its lap. The world famous Dal Lake has been overlooked because of these beautiful tulips.
The 15-day gala named as “Tulip Festival” started on Saturday, has opened the doors to visitors and have made a huge opening of season’s tourism in the valley. This festival is a part of ‘Bahaar-e-Kashmir’ which means spring in Kashmir event. Last year in the month of July, Kashmir had to face a huge loss in tourism due to the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Militant Burhan Wani. But this year the authorities have made their main focus on the revival of the tourism through this festival.
The name of this garden is ‘The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden’ named after the Prime Minister of India. The garden is located in the Zabarwan Range, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The total area of the garden is 12 hectares and have a Dal Lake view.
A tourism department officials gave a statement in which he said that the tulip garden will remain open for the visitors despite the rain. The weather is so pleasant in the valley and it is enhancing the beauty of this tulip festival. The tourism department is expecting a large number of visitors this season.n
Many bulbs and other lighting arrangements have been made favor the weather and environment. The other attractions of the festival are handcraft stalls, Kashmiri cuisines with their ethnic touch, and decoration items for the home.
