Rishi Kapoor Remembers His Father On His Death Anniversary

Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor paid homage to his father and remembered the prominent actor of Hindi cinema Raj Kapoor on his 29th death anniversary today. Rishi Kapoor posted an image of his father on tweeter with the caption a line from the song ‘Jeena Yahaan Marna Yahaan from the super duper hit movie ‘Mera Naam Joker.’ The actor quoted,  “Papa, today 29 years ago, you left us. Par Hum Tumhare Rahenge Sada (But we will always be yours).”

Raj Kapoor was born on 14 December 1924 in Peshawar (now in Pakistan). The legendary actor debuted his acting career with the blockbuster movie of Indian cinema ‘Neel Kamal’ in the year Raj Kapoor made his official acting debut with 1947. He had proved himself a number of times with the remarkable performances in a number of movies such as Awara, Barsaat, Shree 420 etc.

Kapoor became the youngest director just at the age of 24, he made his filmmaking debut with the film Aag (1948) portraying himself alongside Kamini, Premnath, Nargis, and Kaushal. This man was popular for his role as Charlie Chaplin-esque acting style that had sought attention, not of just Indians but also made a huge fan following in Russia as well.

In the year 1946, Raj Kapoor got married at the age of 22 with Krishna Malhotra who was 16-year-old then. Further, Krishna Kapoor and Raj Kapoor have blessed with five beautiful and talented children- two cute daughters, Rima Jain and Ritu Nanda: three sons Rishi, Rajiv, and Randhir. In addition to this, recently, Rishi Kapoor released his autobiography named as ‘Kullam Khulla’ in that he shared his bonding with his beloved father.

It is pertinent to note that a few of favorite actress of Raj Kapoor were Zeenat Aman, Nimmi, Nargis, Padmini Kolhapure, Madhubala, Vyjanthimala and the interesting thing was all of them were leading actress alongside Raj Kapoor and all have worn saree in white color at least in one shot.

Rishi Kapoor wrote about his father, “My father loved his cinema, his booze, his leading ladies and his work. But for a man legendary for his hospitality, he was very possessive of his whiskey,” It is evident that Rishi was last featured in the movie ‘Kapoor And Sons’ now he is all set for his next project 102 Not Out with Amitabh Bachchan.

As matter of fact, Raj Kapoor died at the age of 63 in June 1988 due to an asthma attack.
