Maserati recently unveiled the all new total black edition of Ghibli Nerissimo at the ongoing New York International Auto Show 2017 and it looks demonic wrapped up in the darkness.
The Italian luxury automaker is known to bring premium quality cars and its success over the past years says enough. Ghibli ‘Nerissimo’ which means ‘extremely black’ in Italian, is yet another chapter Maserati is writing. The company will be keeping the production unit limited to 450 only. All the three edition of Ghibli, Ghibli S and Ghibli S Q4 will be available in Nerissimo (Nice word).
The car is powered by a twin turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine developed by Ferrari that delivers 404 brake horsepower and 550 Nm of peak torque. All the generated power is transferred to all wheels through an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission box accelerating Ghibli Nerissimo 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and tops at 283 km/h which is decent enough for a four seater car.
To give the car completely Darth Vader look, it has been fully wrapped in black except for the headlamps and trident logo and the taillamps which are obvious. The glossy black finish will be seen on the body and 20-inch Urano Alloys that has brake calipers painted in blood red hence it stands apart giving it more contrast. The front grille, window trims, door knobs. Even the interior is done in black with Nerissimo leather seats stitched in red threads, black floorboard, and headliner, pedals, gear knob even the OVRMs trim. This edition will also sport Harman Kardon stereo systems.
On the dashboard perfectly sits a 7-inch infotainment system that shows necessary data to the driver and is used for navigation and multimedia purpose. The car comes with the same safety features as were seen on Ghibli earlier like seven dual stage airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, active headrests and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance system) which helps in averting collisions. Other features are adaptive cruise control, rear cross path detection and blind spot alert.
Maserati has priced the new Ghibli Nerissimo edition at $78,500, which is $5,650 more than the base Ghibli model, nonetheless, the car is a charmer and delight to black color-loving people. The world has already seen the quality cars Maserati build, GranTurismo and Gran Cabriolet are the perfect examples and Ghibli has already impressed the critiques, what more would the Italian car maker want.
