Looks like countries have started replacing their traditional car fleets with new and fresh monsters, lately. Italy too seems like moving in the elite racing unit direction with its all new addition of Lamborghini Huracan that runs 200 mph straight.
The all new addition to Italy’s arsenal will give illegal racers nightmare. The car keys were handed over to Marco Minniti, Interior Minister, and it will soon be seen on the roads of Italy. The fleet has introduced this car to carry out special tasks like delivering organs or blood at super quick speed as it has an inbuilt refrigerator and other medical equipment like a defibrillator and when not busy with delivery operations, it will be put to patrol the highways, however, its MO will be to hunt down racers.
What makes this car ridiculously fast is its 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V-10 motor running under the hood. churning 610 brake horsepower and a maximum torque of 560Nm. The generated is transferred to all four wheels through a 7-speed LDF dual clutch gearbox that pushes the 0-100 km/h in mere 3.2 seconds. If given long distance to run, this car can touch a staggering top speed of 325 km/h. Huracan is built on Aluminum and carbon chassis hence it lighter in weight. It has been said that car will be used to chase speeders down and yet you won’t see it running after a pickup truck. It packs all the necessary cops equipment like onboard tablet computer, siren, camera for video recording while patrolling. For notorious situations, there is a standard police issued gun holster and a mini fire extinguisher. Overall, the car is wrapped in Italian official police medium blue and boy it looks even more stunning than the standard commercial model.
Lamborghini provided a statement saying “In 2016, there were 176 requests for assistance from all over Italy, requiring involvement from 462 police patrols, “120 patrols provided assistance to persons afflicted with special medical conditions.” “The Highway Patrol is constantly engaged in meeting the need for medical assistance”. Lamborghini Huracan won’t be the first supercar into Italy’s police fleet, Rome has been using a Huracan for its traffic police department since 2015. The new add will be retiring Lambo Gallardo that has a top speed of 370 km/h, as soon the new car starts its service.\
Before Italy, Dubai was the only country to have supercars in the law enforcement troops and unlike Italy, these supercop cars can only be seen cruising around Jumeira Beach or Dubai Mall and sometimes even near Burj Khalifa but then it is the country of rich and ridiculously rich it isn’t a surprise to find cars like Aston Martin One 77, Ferrari Italia, Porsche Panamera a BMW i8 and the super performing Bugatti Veyron former world’s fastest car with speedometer screaming an unbelievable 407 km/h. There are some speculations that Dubai might bring a Koenigsegg into their fleet, anyways that would not surprise anyone, would it?
