Bavarian Motor Works unveiled its state of art series 6 Gran Tourismo model. The GT is rolled out for those stuck people who find it hard to decide whether to buy a coupe or a crossover. The Ultimate driving machine will be made available in the American Market at a price of $70,000 from November this year.
According to BMW’s senior vice president of Design, “The all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo is geared toward discerning customers who place great importance on individuality.” The purpose of designing this was to provide something to people wanting to own a coupe cum SUV. Apart from the muscular yet aggressive looks, the car packs punchy performance all thanks to its twin turbo V6 engine that generates 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of peak torque. The power is transferred to all wheels using an 8-speed automatic transmission box including paddle shifters. This enables the car to propel o-100 km/h in only 5.1 seconds. There are also three driving modes, Sport, Eco Pro and Comfort.
The car has gone through various exterior as well as interior changes. Based on aluminum and steel frame the car is lighter than the previous model giving room to some add-ons. Inside the car is done in off white leather and wood finish for the premium feel although the car does provide ample modification like quilted leather seats by Nappa and Bowers and Wilkins sound system. The dashboard holds a bigger better 10.25 infotainment iDrive system that offers gesture control with voice navigation.
Series 6 GT comes with the abundance of safety features such as real-time traffic camera, Park Assist, the car comes equipped with the Intelligent emergency call using BMW’s Accident assistance, ADA (Active Driving Assistant) tech warns the driver of pedestrian, kind of collision prevention warning, lane change warning system. If you plan to buy Series 6 GT and have some extra bucks in the pocket opt for Driving Assistant Plus pack, it comes with cruise control, side, collision avoidance and Traffic Jam Assist. Even the ride height is adjustable with just a touch of a button. Apart from Drive Assistant, there are Luxury and M sports packs too.
BMW Gran Tourismo is spacious with 610 liters boot space and if the need occurs for long voyage one can split the rear seats and get humongous 1800 liters of space. There’s not many cars out there that furnish this ridiculous amount of area.
