Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda Auto are planning to launch the much-awaited Octavia 2017 facelift around 10 July. Octavia is one of the best-selling sedans by the company around the world. Even India has witnessed few generations of Octavia. It is also one of the most dominating sedans in the country. The new facelifted Octavia looks really sleek and there are more amendments done on the car other than its styling.
Skoda India has also started accepting bookings for the car at a token money of amount Rs 51,000. The waiting period for the car will depend on the three different variants – Ambition, Style and Style Plus. As far as the power is concerned, The new Skoda Octavia 2017 will be powered by three choices of engines – 2 petrol and 1 diesel. The petrol trim is powered by 1.4-litre which is capable of churning out 147 bhp of horsepower at 250Nm of torque and the other one is a bigger 1.8-litre petrol engine which can generate 177 bhp of horsepower at the same torque. Whereas, the diesel variant will be powered by 2.0-litre engine to generate 141 bhp of horsepower at 320Nm of torque.
The petrol variant will have the option of manual or automatic transmission with a 6-speed gearbox whereas the diesel one will be offered in only 7-speed automatic gearbox.
If we talk about the style quotient of the sedan, The looks on this one can kill the opponents without much efforts. You will also notice the bigger 17-inch allow wheels. The headlight is split into two parts and is now equipped with all-LED headlamps with daytime running lamps. A new bumper and new air intake grille give it a fresh new look. Although there are not much changes in the rear exterior profile but the tail lamp and bumper are revised.
The company decided not to play with the spacious dimensions of the car. 2017 Octavia measures 4659mm in length, 1,814mm in width and a wheelbase measuring 2,688mm. It offers the best in class comfort. When you enter inside the cabin of the car, you will notice the newly installed 8-inch infotainment touchscreen panel with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and WLAN. Among other new features, there are two umbrellas to be placed in the front doors, hands-free parking system, ambient lighting. As far as the safety is concerned, The 2017 Octavia is equipped with 6-8 airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, which will be standard in all the variants.
Although the price tag for the sedan has not yet been revealed by the company it is expected that the car will be available for around 18-22 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
