Bajaj Auto has introduced another sibling into the Pulsar family today, Bajaj Pulsar NS160. The bike is launched in India today with a price tag of Rs 82,400. Although there hasn’t been any launch announcements made officially by the company but we can assure you that Pulsar NS160 is now made available to the public in many showrooms across the nation.
The newest entry into the Pulsar clan, NS160 is based on the styling of Pulsar 200NS. Seems like Bajaj is going to make a similar looking clan for its bike to have a trademark look for the company. Bajaj will start taking bookings for NS160 in July.
The company has upgraded the 150cc engine from the Pulsar 150 and has installed it in the new Pulsar 160NS. The new 160.3cc engine is refined for the new bike and is also oil cooled like the other high-end Pulsar models – 200 and 220F. The 160cc engine is capable of generating 15.5 bhp of horsepower and 14.6Nm of torque. The NS160 transmission is a 5-speed gearbox.
As far as the styling is concerned, The all-new Pulsar NS160 looks strikingly similar to the elder version Pulsar 200NS. The company is trying to change the styling of all its bikes and give them a similar kind of look, The street bike look. You can differentiate between the two bikes by looking at the size as the NS160 looks little smaller than the 200NS. The body frame is almost same like the NS200 with similar headlight as well and tail light as well.
There is a presence of gas charged monoshock at the back of the bike. Both the front and rear tyres are measured at 17 inches in size with a 240mm disc at front and 130mm drum at the back. The fuel tank has a capacity of 12 litres. The bike weighs 142kg.
It has been speculated that after to the implementation of GST from July 1, the prices might go up. The price tag of Rs 82,400 is not yet confirmed but this is the price revealed for now. So gear up yourselves bike lovers for this new addition to the iconic Pulsar family by Bajaj Auto. Pulsar has been one of the best-selling bikes in India and also paved the way for the company to increase its businesses outside India. The new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 has already been launched in Turkey. NS160 will look forward to compete with the Apache RTR160.
